New information has surfaced about Samsung’s highly anticipated Galaxy S26 Ultra, expected to launch next year. This time, the spotlight is on addressing a long-standing problem that has troubled S Pen users for years. It seems Samsung is ready to put this issue behind them with the next flagship.
Samsung to Fix S Pen Issue with Galaxy S26 Ultra
For a long time, Galaxy Note and Ultra series owners have struggled with S Pen malfunctions caused by interference from magnetic cases, wallets, and Qi2 wireless chargers. These accessories often disrupt the S Pen’s responsiveness, leading to frustrating user experiences.
According to insider reports from PandaFlashPro, Samsung is developing a new S Pen technology aimed at eliminating these touch and detection issues caused by magnets in accessories. Currently, the Galaxy S25 Ultra supports third-party Qi2 chargers but lacks built-in magnets around the S Pen slot. This absence forces users to rely on magnetic cases, which can create these problems.
If Samsung integrates magnets directly into the Galaxy S26 Ultra, users will enjoy greater freedom in choosing accessories without worrying about compatibility or performance drops. This improvement will likely come through updates to the display’s touch detection system or enhancements to the S Pen hardware itself.
The new technology is rumoured to be first trialled on the Galaxy Z Fold 7, expected to debut on July 9, 2025. While the Fold 7 does not feature a dedicated S Pen slot, the Galaxy S26 Ultra’s built-in S Pen housing will allow it to fully benefit from these advancements.
